Leaders of the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) Programme have welcomed news that the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has given its backing to the initiative following a wide-ranging public consultation this summer. Cardiac rehabilitation is provided locally for catchment patients or if from an adjacent area the appropriate contact is made with the rehabilitation team at the local hospital to ensure continuity of care - this extends into North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire. Services providedĪdult Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery Rehabilitation and follow upįollow up is generally 6 weeks to the appropriate surgeon with a discharge back to the GP as required. In partnership with The University of Nottingham we host a Biomedical Research Centre carrying out vital research into hearing, digestive diseases, respiratory, musculoskeletal disease, mental health and imaging.Īs a teaching trust we have a strong relationship with our colleagues at The University of Nottingham and other universities across the East Midlands, including Loughborough University, where we are part of the Olympic Legacy project. It is also home to the University of Nottingham’s School of Nursing and Medical School QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre, Nottingham Treatment Centre and the Nottingham Children’s Hospital are based. We're based in the heart of Nottingham and provide services to over 2.5 million residents of Nottingham and its surrounding communities. We also provide specialist services for a further 3-4 million people from across the region. We're one of the largest employers in the region, employing around 16,700 people at QMC, Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House.
